Anotace: Numerous failures of buildings are caused by dynamic effects due to technical (or induced) seismicity. Technical, or so-called induced, seismicity is caused by the effects of traffic, building activity (machines), the effects of devices and machinery, mining and mineral extraction activity, blasting operations (in the vicinity of quarries), pressure waves, air and water jets, the effects of gusts of wind, impact waves, etc. In particular, masonry buildings with insufficiently rigid ceiling structures, non-functional wall and beam ties and foundations where the effect of settlement due to compaction of the subsoil cannot be excluded are highly sensitive to the dynamic effects caused by technical seismicity.
