Anotace:
The ar ticle highlights the need of foundries
to respond to the demand for price reduction
by automotive industry customers. This case
study demonstrates the possibility of reducing
production costs by cooling of metal moulds.
A numerical simulation in MAGMA5 was
used as the ideal tool for achieving optimal
production parameters for cooling. Detailed
simulated variants including the most
impor tant results are described. Results from
the simulation software have been validated
in practice and reduction of manufacturing
time of the casting is considerable.
