Anotace:
In the study, we are presenting findings of the second part of empirical research examining
grammatical and lexical competence of secondary schools´ graduates. The second part
of the research focuses on a link between a used textbook, achieved competence and specific
mistakes made by respondents. This link has proved to be very likely; it has also been shown
that respondents make mistakes mainly in language phenomena which they learn at the latest,
however there are mistakes quite frequently also in the phenomena which were learnt earlier
and should be solidified. The research has shown the urgency of the development of foreign
language learning textbooks research and more precise wording of tuition objectives.
