A case study in the form of this article points to the
possibilities of process optimization during casting itself.
optimization is primarily due to cost savings of
current issues not only in the automotive segment of
industry trade. In this case it is a part used in the hydraulic
industry, in particular it is a part of a hydraulic
pump. the casting is made by low pressure casting
technology from a non-traditional aluminium alloy with
zinc bearing the trade name unIFont 90. the credibility
of the study is based not only on the results of
casting simulation in the MAGMA5 program but also
on the proven impact on the cast product. there is
also a direct comparison of predicted savings of production
time based on simulation and reality in foundry
production.
