Anotace:
Austenitic cast irons are an interesting group
of materials characterized by specific proper ties
with which they are approaching the austenitic
stainless steels and with favourable foundry
characteristics approaching the common
graphitic cast irons. Among their advantages
are e.g. the excellent corrosion resistance,
refractoriness and creep proper ties or some
of the notable physical characteristics.
Austenitic cast irons are counted among the
high-alloy cast irons, where the main alloying
element is nickel. Structure is made up of a
homogeneous austenitic matrix in which the
graphite is located most often separated in
the form of balls. In addition to it the grades
with chromium content have carbides in their
structure. In the assor tment of austenitic cast
irons there are also grades with graphite
separated in the form of lamellae; they used
to be alloyed besides nickel with copper too.
