Anotace:
The article describes and analyses history and current state of education system in Tunisia.
Tunisian education system was based on the French model and was originally bilingual (French
language and Arabic language). In the 970s, the decision was made to gradually arabize
Basic and Secondary Education in Tunisia. In the 990s, French language was beginning
to return to the education system in Tunisia. The period after 0 is characterized by the onset
of Islamists and improvement of status of English language in Tunisia.
