Anotace:
In the article the use of fi gurative expressions (metaphors, phraseological phenomena,
collocations etc.) in German and Czech business press is compared. Diff erent equivalent
types of fi gurative expressions are found out and the reasons for their numerous diff erences
in both languages examined. In conclusion the role of fi gurative expressions in business
press is characterized and the results for pedagogical and translation practice are
drawn.
