This article analyses syntactic phenomena (without subordinate clauses) of the
three layers of Business German - the theoretical language, the practical professional language and popular scientific literature. Their frequency of occurrence is
determined and their function in professional language is discussed. At the same
time attention is drawn to issues of interference in teaching Business German
