Anotace:
The article analyzes the historical way of development of legal regulation of expert activity in the criminal process. It has been established that: firstly, at its origins, expert activity in criminal proceedings was identified with the activities of knowledgeable people who possessed special information, knowledge of science, art, crafts and the like; secondly, since the middle of the nineteenth century in the scientific community, there began to emerge the idea of the need to divide knowledgeable people into experts and specialists. In the course of scientific research it has been concluded that the practical application of the results of these studies to improve the criminal procedural law was implemented during the Soviet times and, most fully, after Ukraine had gained independence, elaborated and adopted the CPC of Ukraine in 2012.
