science should enable them to make informed decisions about their own lives, environment and society. The article at hand
deals with possibilities of using inquiry-based science education as a teaching approach that allows students to achieve
a conceptual change leading to the scientifically correct ideas about photosynthesis and respiration in plants. The obtained
results support the claim that we can prevent or eliminate students’ misconceptions using an inquiry-based instruction in
a science classroom.
