Anotace:
Tis paper investigates the trends in life expectancy and avoidable mortality among the Czech population aged
0–74 in the period 2006–2016. We applied the concept of avoidable mortality on a regional level and took
a more detailed look at Ústí nad Labem county and Prague region. Te results point to regional disparities
in terms of inequalities in life expectancy and avoidable mortality, where regions with a favourable socioeconomic situation (e.g. Prague) have noticeably better outcomes in life expectancy and avoidable mortality than
weaker socio-economic regions (such as the counties of Ústí nad Labem, Moravia-Silesia, and Karlovy Vary).
