Anotace:
The present article is the fifth continuation in the thematic series (Not) Lost
inTranslation and deals with therole ofLanguage Mediation asauniversity course.
Theaim of thearticle is todescribe theconcept ofLanguage Mediation courses
oered at the Department of German Language and Literature at the Faculty
ofEducation, Masaryk University inBrno, and tosummarize the results ofqualitatively
oriented evaluation research. The data were obtained using the focus
group method and then evaluated bymeans of a thematic analysis. The results
orthestudents‘ statements basically refer tofour thematic areas: course content,
competence and strategy development, methodology and organization and further
suggestions. With her contribution, theauthor would like toshow that forvarious
reasons (considered inmore detail inthearticle) itmakes sense and is innovative
toinclude Language Mediation intheuniversity context and todevelop its potential
within theframework ofcourses that are both practical and methodologically
and didactically oriented.
