Polish language lessons at the second stage of education. The value of the
animated film in the process of teaching students with ASD was particularly
emphasized (based on the example of “Inside out” with Polish dubbing).
The main assumption in the consideration is the fact that word and image
are equivalent media. In Polish education, the usefulness of film in education
was appreciated and degraded. Unfortunately, in the current “Core
Curriculum” of 2017, the film was degraded, and the dominant value was attributed to literary texts from which other texts of culture were clearly separated.
Film, like no other text of culture, thanks to its visuality allows
to see the diversity of communication situations and the role of non-verbal
means of communication, and thus practice all communication skills. Due
to five didactic functions: stimulating active reception of content, exemplary,
informative, aesthetic and phatic, cultivating proper social communication,
film, as a didactic aid, can support shaping correct behaviours and eliminate
developmental deficits.
