Anotace:
The article “The Nobel Prize for Literature – Annie Ernaux” is intended as a presentation
of the laureate’s literary creation, focusing first of all on the novel The Years
[2008] which has just been published in Czech translation, a quarter century after
the first publication of Ernaux’s works in our country, two short stories – The Place and
A Woman translated in 1995. From the beginning of her literary career, the Nobelist
stood out for her feminist ideas. Her sociological approach, inspired by the theories
of Pierre Bourdieu, as well as her neutral style characterize her objective writing.
In her autobiographies personal memory is inseparable from collective memory. Annie
Ernaux arms that literature is never neutral.
