Anotace: The article treats two short texts in the Letter of James, namely 5:4 and 1:10–11, relevant for an investigation of the possible allusions of this New Testament writing to the Greek version of the book of the prophet Isaiah. Comparing them with the corresponding Isaianic parallels leads to the conclusion that the author of the letter was well acquainted with them and used them in adapted form in his new theological and ethical-pragmatical context.
