Anotace:
This article focuses on compounding, which is one of the most productive word-formation
processes in current French. Compounding is a word-formation process based
on the combination of lexical elements (words or stems). The term is not used consistently
in the theoretical literature and designates various complex lexical units analysed through
a range of approaches. The purpose of this article is to present a typology of compound
words developed by the French linguists Sablayrolles and Pruvost (2016). This typology
is then used in the analysis of our corpus, consisting of the 3795 new compound words.
Subsequently, a few selected examples from the corpus will be analysed and discussed.
